little man // nursery reveal

Monday, March 16, 2015

One of my favorite parts of being pregnant has been decorating the little man's nursery. It seriously is my favorite room in the house. In fact I'm hanging out in it right now. anywho here is the big reveal. no thanks to Pinterest for making me think I could do any DIY project and for always adding more and more to the to-do list. At 38 weeks plus a couple days we can finally say the room is ready. Now we just need the little man to make his grand entrance.

Craigslist-Find Dresser // Tutorial from Bunches of Joy
This $35 find was a sorry sight when we first saw it. Although it took an entire trimester to get this project completed I couldn't be happier with the end product. I will say that sanding is a horrid thing.

Changing pad covers are either ugly or expensive... it's quite annoying. This was seriously so easy to sew just follow the tutorial above and your options are endless.

Rug // IKEA
I've been drooling over this rug for years.

DaVinci Jenny Lind 3-in-1 Crib // Babies R Us
It was love at first sight with this crib.

DIY Baby Shower Card Artwork // Inspired by Veronika's Blushing
I couldn't possibly get rid of the sweet baby shower cards. I'm so glad that I stumbled across this idea. Cards are just so cute these days. The rest of the wall decor is from Target, Hobby Lobby, or Gordmans.

baby boy nursery, boppy pillow

This was my first sewing project for the little man. I started it at 17 weeks basically the second we found out he was a boy. Honestly the hardest part was picking out the fabrics since the nursery doesn't have a theme.

DIY Boppy Cover // Tutorial from Katie Gibson

Boppy Covers are another thing that are either ugly or expensive. Once I had the pattern figured out it only took 10 minutes to sew and it even has a zipper in the back so it's easy to take off and wash.

Storage Cubicle // IKEA
I love having a place to store or rather hide toys & stuffed animals. My attempt at making things look organized and neat. By the way the blue tubs are from the dollar store. Got to love a good bargain.

let them be little // Hobby Lobby
this is my absolute favorite quote for kids. it's a fantastic reminder as I start this new adventure as mom.

the most comfortable chair ever
Seriously this chair is sooooo comfortable. I have already taken several on-purpose and accidental naps in this chair. So thankful for this chair from a dear coworker or mine. So excited for baby snuggles and bedtime stories in this chair.

Book Display // Target
I love books. For one of our baby showers we asked everyone to bring a signed book instead of a care... seriously the best idea. Not only do you get a great start to a library but the books are filled with sweet words from friends & family. These aren't even all of the little man's books. The shelves were truly terrible to hang but totally worth it.

So there you go... now it's back to the waiting game. This mama is getting quite impatient or just really really excited. I guess it's nap time since this post is done and the nursery is done.
